Stay on the banks of the Nile

Drop your bags and start ticking off those sights – you’ve got plenty to get through. Luxor Temple and the Mummification Museum are closest; they’re about 25 minutes’ walk from the hotel. Jump in a taxi, meanwhile, and you can make your way to Sphinx Avenue or Karnak Temple in less than 10 minutes. And you’ve still got the whole other side of the river to discover. Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens, and more await across the water.
Head back to base and you can take a well-earned load off on a poolside sun lounger. There’s a section where little ones can make a splash, too, and a weekly activities programme. If unwinding is more your speed, check out the health and fitness centre, where you’ll find sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, and perhaps best of all, a menu of massages perfect for treating yourself.
When hunger strikes, sink your teeth into the varied dining offering. The main restaurant is a buffet spot, offering themed spreads of international and Egyptian cuisine. Then there’s a Teppanyaki joint and an à la carte Italian eatery. There’s a choice of watering holes, too, from the lounge bar and the café to the swim-up spot and the bougie Oriental Shisha bar.
